WAGNER Y STRAVINSKY CONFIGURAN EL PRÓXIMO CONCIERTO DEL CONSERVATORIO SUPERIOR DE MÚSICA DE MÁLAGA

WAGNER AND STRAVINSKY CONFIGURE THE NEXT CONCERT OF THE SUPERIOR CONSERVATORY OF MUSIC OF MÁLAGA

Next Friday, February 17 at 8:00 p.m. in the Sala Falla of the Superior Conservatory of Music of Málaga , the Chamber Orchestra of this center, under the direction of Juan Paulo Gómez , will offer a concert dedicated to the composers Richard Wagner and Igor Stravinsky . This concert is part of the three that this group will perform during the current 2022-2023 academic year, being at the same time framed within the extensive program of activities that this Malaga musical institution carries out annually in the capital of the Costa del Sol.

The repertoire will be shaped by the Idyll of Siegfried by the German composer Richard Wagner , a profound display of love for his wife Cosima Liszt in a difficult time for the composer. The purely "Wagnerian" style of this work is in complete contrast to that of the second work on the program: the Pulcinella ballet suite by the Russian composer Igor Stravinsky .

The suite, structured and revised by the composer himself in 1947, is part of the original ballet of the same name premiered in Paris in 1920. It is based on an 18th century play around the character Pulcinella commissioned by Sergei Diaghilev, Pablo Picasso being the one. He designed the original costumes and sets.

As is usual in the different concerts organized by the conservatory, access is free for the public, and is controlled until the permitted capacity is reached.
