UNA APUESTA POR LA MÚSICA DE NUEVA CREACIÓN Y LOS JÓVENES COMPOSITORES

A COMMITMENT TO NEWLY CREATED MUSIC AND YOUNG COMPOSERS

Next Saturday, September 17 at 7:00 p.m., the start of the fourth season of the Community Concerts will take place at the Peace Palace in Fuengirola , a cycle of five concerts that Iberian Sinfonietta develops in this town on the Costal del Sol in agreement and collaboration with the City Council.

Absolute premiere work

In this first concert, the premiere of the work Dimensiones , by the composer Sergio Pastor , will take place, the winning work of the first edition of the "Ramón Roldán" Composition Competition , a competition that is part of the collaboration agreement between the orchestra and the Association of Composers and Performers of Malaga (ACIM) , whose main objective is to give young composers from Malaga the opportunity to premiere works for orchestra, thus encouraging the premiere of new musical creations for this group.

A program with British overtones

The concert program will be completed with a repertoire made up of relevant works from the musical repertoire written for string orchestra, as well as by British composers of great relevance in the history of music. Following the order of the program, these works will be Sospiri, Op.70 by Edward Elgar (1857-1934), St. Paul's Suite by Gustav Holst (1874-1934), Concerto Grosso by Ralph Vaughan Williams (1872-1958) and Simple Symphony by Benjamin Britten (1913-1976).

As is traditional in the Community Concerts format, the concert program will be presented and commented by Jorge Rodríguez Morata , coordinator of the orchestra's pedagogical and musicological contents. The musical direction will be carried out by its main director, Juan Paulo Gómez from Malaga.

Free entry until complete seats

All concerts in the cycle, in accordance with the philanthropic ideal of Iberian Sinfonietta and thanks to the commitment and support of the Fuengirola City Council , are free to the public, with access controlled until the permitted capacity is reached.
