The musical solemnity of the Baroque will come to Jaén with the Advent Concert, performed by the Partiture Philharmonic Orchestra and the Cantoría de Jaén. It will be next December 20 at 9:00 p.m. at the Nuevo Teatro Infanta Leonor.

“It is a repertoire related to the characteristic music of the liturgical season of Advent and to the Baroque musical period that, along with pieces to be sung, includes instrumental works linked to or belonging to the literature of that time,” he explained today. the director of the orchestra, Juan Paulo Gómez, during the presentation of the concert in an event in which the councilor for Culture, Tourism and Heritage of the capital, Cristina Nestares, and the member of groups of the Association of Brotherhoods and Brotherhoods of Jaén.

In this way, according to Juan Paulo Gómez, the concert will consist of two parts. The first will be made up of instrumental works from two of the most important oratorios related to Christmas: The Messiah, by George Frideric Handel, and the Christmas Oratorio, by Johann Sebastian Bach, of which his two symphonies will be performed. It also includes the Christmas Concerto of the Concertó grosso composed by Arcángelo Corelli and the popular Adagio in G minor, by Tomasso Albinoni.

The second part will focus on the musical literature par excellence of this liturgical period, specifically, with Bach's Magnificat in D Major for orchestra, choir and soloists, a work that "exemplifies the solemnity, virtuosity and mastery of the musical Baroque."

The Advent Concert is the first proposal by Partiture Producciones within the framework of the cycle of sacred music that it will perform annually, both at Christmas time and at Easter - 'Sacro II', based on the Passion of Christ, will be next Friday of Dolores–, as explained by Jesus Paulano, Managing Director of Partiture Producciones.

It has the collaboration of the City Council and part of the profits will go to the charity work of the Group of Brotherhoods and Brotherhoods of Jaén. Tickets can be purchased at El Corte Inglés at a price of 22 euros in the stalls and 20 in the stalls as well as at the box office on the day of the concert.

The Partiture Philharmonic Orchestra thus continues its first program, 2014-2015, which began on October 30 with Symphony I. The concert, together with the famous violinist Ara Malikian as godfather, obtained an overwhelming success that it hopes to continue achieving with its future proposals, among which are the concert and audiovisual version of the opera 'Carmen' and the concert and audiovisual version of 'Katiuska (the Russian Woman)' by Pablo Sorozábal for next February 14.

Partiture Philharmonic Orchestra is an initiative launched in 2014 by Partiture Producciones Musicales with the aim of disseminating classical music in Jaén. To do this, it creates its own very careful performances with quality as a fundamental principle, although also adding added value with the promotion of the culture and musicians of the territory. Directed by Juan Paulo Gómez, Professor of the Orchestra Conducting Chair at the Victoria Eugenia Royal Conservatory of Music in Granada, it is made up of professors and professors from conservatories in the province of Jaén, Córdoba and Granada.

In addition, the Cantoría de Jaén choir, whose director is Cristina García de la Torre, will participate in the concert, as well as the solo singers Ana Huete (soprano), Solomía Antonyak (soprano), María Isabel Rueda (contralto), Francisco Díaz Carrillo (tenor ) and Víctor Cruz (bass)
