THE JOPMA AND THE SUPERIOR CONSERVATORY OF MUSIC AGREE ON AN INTERNSHIP PROGRAM FOR YOUNG ORCHESTRA CONDUCTORS

Last Friday, February 7, 2020, the Malaga Provincial Youth Orchestra (JOPMA) and the Malaga Conservatory of Music signed an agreement by which the students of the Orchestra Conducting specialty who study at the Malaga conservatory will participate in an external internship program through rehearsals and concerts throughout the year.

Tania Schoham Perelis and Antonio César Muñoz , president and secretary of the JOPMA, as well as Javier García Moreno , current director of the conservatory, participated in the signing of the agreement. Both parties have considered this signing as an excellent opportunity for collaboration between two of the oldest and most important musical institutions in the city. Through this agreement, the training of students in this specialty will be implemented, whose internship hours are fundamental and necessary for their training but which unfortunately are not frequent outside the academic scope of the conservatory.

The organization of external academic practices will take the form of a training project that will relate the educational objectives and the activities to be developed by the students. The supervision of the program will be carried out by Juan Paulo Gómez , musical and artistic director of the JOPMA and professor of Orchestral Conducting at the higher music conservatory.
