Juan Paulo Gómez and Ara Malikian share the stage again

Next April 30 at 8 p.m., on the occasion of the XIX International Festival of Music and Performing Arts Ciudad de Linares, the emerging Andalusian orchestra based in Jaén, Partiture Philharmonic Orchestra, will meet again, this time at the Teatro Cervantes, along with one of the best performers on the current national scene, the violinist Ara Malikian.

Once again, the orchestra will be conducted by Juan Paulo Gómez, musical and artistic director of the group, whom the press has defined as “technical virtuosity in conducting and high preparation” (DIARIO JAÉN, 03/25/2011), “elegant and efficient director” (IDEAL DE GRANADA, 12/20/2013) or “Juan Paulo Gómez, a great baton master” (EL MUNDO, 03/05/2015). This conductor, of Malaga origin, has already worked on previous occasions with the violinist of Armenian origin, performing the concertos for violin and orchestra by Beethoven and Mendelssohn. In addition to Ara Malikian, the concert will feature the participation of the soprano Marta Estal Vera, who recently won First Prize in the Intercentros Melómano Competition (2016), the tenor Jesús Paulano and the baritone David Gascón.

The first part of the concert program will be made up of different arias representative of the operatic repertoire of the composers Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756 - 1791), Gaetano Donizetti (1797 - 1848) and Giuseppe Verdi (1813 - 1901), among them being able to highlight Vedro mentr'io sosprio (The Marriage of Figaro), A furtive tear (The elixir of love), Regnava in silence (Lucia di Lammemoor) or The donna e mobile (Rigoletto); as well as musical interludes Meditation (Thaïs) by the composer Jules Massenet (1842 – 1912) and the Intermezzo (Russian Cavalry) by Pietro Mascagni (1863 – 1945). The second part will introduce us to the symphonic world with one of the most wonderful and complex concerts that romantic musical literature has given, a workhorse of all the great violinists in the history of music: the Concerto for violin and orchestra in D Major, Op 77 by Johannes Brahms (1874 – 1934), performed on this occasion by the fascinating and revolutionary violinist Ara Malikian accompanied by the teachers of the Partiture Philharmonic Orchestra.

Partiture Philharmonic Orchestra is a musical initiative launched in 2014 by Partiture Producciones Musicales with a new musical management model carried out by the singer, producer and businessman Jesús Paulano Hernández, who is also the manager of the orchestra, whose objective is to spread the symphonic-choral musical heritage, as well as that which may be derived from the fusion with other cultural heritage, throughout the national territory, paying special attention to the musical development of the province of Jaén.
