Juan Paulo Gómez awarded by the Rotary Club Madrid – Serrano


The organization awards the Excellent 2014-2015 Award to the orchestra conductor
Rotary Club Madrid –Serrano recognizes the conductor Juan Paulo Gómez as person of the year 2014-2015 thanks to his great work as a volunteer in the fight against Poliomyelitis.

Juan Paulo Gómez, who has collaborated with Rotary International since 2012, orchestrated the I Polio Plus Concert last March, a charity event whose proceeds were entirely destined to the fight against Poliomyelitis in the world, a project carried out by Rotary in collaboration with the Bill Foundation. and Melinda Gates with the support of the World Health Organization, Unicef ​​and the CDC (Centre for Disease Control and Prevention).

Rotary International is a global network of volunteers serving the community, with more than 33,300 Rotary clubs in approximately 200 countries and nearly 1,230,000 members. Each of the clubs fully applies their available resources for humanitarian purposes.

The foundation's main projects focus on the fight against Polio, the implementation of educational programs and humanitarian grants, all with the objective of eliminating poverty, providing food, health services and education and seeking mediation and resolution of conflicts at the international level. Rotary is a member of the UN and UNESCO.

In previous years the organization has awarded the Spanish soccer coach Vicente del Bosque, the president of the Spanish Soccer Federation, Ángel María Villar and the violinist Ara Malikian.
Juan Paulo takes over in 2015 at an awards ceremony that will take place on June 29.
