Starting next January 2020 , the Malaga orchestra director Juan Paulo Gómez , who currently combines his teaching activity as a professor of the Orchestra Conducting Chair at the Málaga Superior Conservatory of Music with his artistic activity, will be director musical and artistic formations of the Iberian Sinfonietta , Partiture Philharmonic Orchestra , Coral Santa María La Mayor de Padul and Coral Polifónica Villa de Mancha Real , will be in charge of coordinating the artistic and educational project that the Young Provincial Orchestra of Malaga (JOPMA) has been developing for thirty years both nationally and internationally, currently positioning itself as one of the leading young orchestras on the national scene.
In addition to celebrating its 30th anniversary at the Cervantes Theater in Malaga or its return to the National Music Auditorium in Madrid next June, among the different commitments that the JOPMA has for the next season, it is worth highlighting the objective of performing the nine symphonies of Beethoven for the next three years, a challenge for this new stage only available to very consolidated and high-level young orchestras, as well as professional orchestras.
