PREMIERE OF “IBÉRICA” AT THE NEXT REY BALDUINO FESTIVAL IN MOTRIL
Next Friday, July 27 at 9:00 p.m., the premiere of the program will take place at the Calderón de la Barca Theater, within the XI “King Balduino” Music Festival in the City of Motril. IBERICA .
IBERICA shows us a sonorous, geographical and emotional journey through today's Spain without forgetting its history and customs. And it is precisely that story that serves as our starting point for this path of music and encounters. Through the musical pieces we will approach areas of Spain. We will tour its landscapes, its ancient stones and its people of today.
IBERICA makes a selection of the most representative music of our musical literature composed by some of the most relevant composers of Spain in the 9th and 20th centuries, representatives of Spanish musical Nationalism, such as Albéniz, Granados, Luna, Falla and Turina. The sound proposal will make us imagine the most beautiful landscapes of Asturias, contemplate the Andalusia of gardens, fountains and the continuous joy of its people, live the vision of a bullfighter praying in a chapel near the ring before going out to fight, take us back to times so distant in time such as those with a Muslim presence or those of Goya, as well as feeling the folk music of dance and singing, heritage of our culture and tradition.
The concert program will be performed by the string section of the Philharmonic Orchestra Sheet Music under the direction of its director Juan Paulo Gómez , who is also the author of some of the adaptations of the works for this instrumental ensemble. In the work that closes the program, the symphonic rhapsody by Joaquín Turina, will be the young pianist from Extremadura Ignacio Arrojo , winner of the Certamen Intercentros Melómado 2016 , the soloist in charge of interpreting this beautiful score so representative of our musical heritage.
