The great signing of José Mercé
Together with the orchestra director Juan Paulo Gómez he will star in Mercé Sinfónico, a tour that will begin in 2017.
The singer from Jerez José Mercé and the conductor from Malaga Juan Paulo Gómez will be the protagonists of the “Mercé Sinfónico” tour that will begin at the beginning of 2017 throughout the national territory.

This audiovisual project is a tribute to the artistic career of the flamenco singer where 12 of the most successful songs in his discography will be included, as well as other musical works, absolute premieres, by the Ubetense composer Cristóbal López Gándara. The symphonic arrangements of the songs have been made by Juan Paulo Gómez, who will also serve as musical and artistic director of the project. The orchestra with which the tour will take place will be the Partiture Philharmonic Orchestra, an instrumental group from Jaen that for some years has been establishing itself as one of the most relevant symphonic references on the musical scene.

Juan Paulo began his career as an orchestra conductor at the age of 17, obtaining the following awards: First Prize in the First International Orchestral Conducting Competition for Young Conductors organized by the “Dinu Lipatti” Lyceum of Music in Bucharest, First Prize in the II International Competition for Young Orchestra Conductors organized by the “Oltenia” Philharmonic Orchestra of Craïova, Special Mention in the 47th Edition of the Besançon International Competition for his high preparation and technical virtuosity in conducting, with the president of the jury being maestro Sergiu Comisiona, Special Mention at the I Festival of Young European Orchestras City of Melilla, as well as the Special Prize “Of the Orchestra” at the II International Orchestra Conducting Competition of Kisiniev.
