The Vélez guitar festival reaches its 28th edition with international artists

From today until next Saturday, Vélez-Málaga hosts the XXVIII International Guitar Festival, with free concerts starting at 9:30 p.m. on stages such as the Beniel Palace and the Teatro del Carmen, starring internationally famous artists such as Rafael Aguirre Miñarro , Carles Pons, Tom Kerstens, Augustin Wiedemann, the Concordis Quartet and the Malaga Symphony Orchestra.

The event starts today with a recital of varied music, titled 'Emociones', by the Malaga artist Rafael Aguirre Miñarro, an important figure at the national level and who is among the young people who has the most international awards. Tomorrow the concert will be 'La Música Popular' with guitarist Carles Pons, an international representative and reference who will perform various music. That same day there will be another concert, 'La Música Española', with Tom Kerstens, an English concert pianist, a great lover of the Spanish guitar, who will not leave the public indifferent with his way of performing with the Spanish instrument.

On July 4, the Beniel Palace will host two concerts, the first 'Las Luces de dos Mundos', with the young guitarist Laura Verdugo del Rey, uniting interpretations of European music and American music in her show. Next, the concert titled 'Cantigas' will take place, a very special work that comes from the hand of the famous German guitarist Augustin Wiedemann.

On Friday there will be the closing at the Teatro del Carmen, with 'Music for Guitar Quartets', performed by the 'Concordis Quartet', of Portuguese origin that performs Portuguese, Spanish and very modern music. Finally, on Saturday at the Teatro del Carmen also, the protagonist will be the Malaga Symphony Orchestra, with works by JF Hendel and A. Marcello, with Ahmet Kanneci as solo guitarist, of Turkish origin and by the director Juan Paulo Gomez and a violin soloist.
