International debut of the conductor from Malaga in Brazil

On August 27, the debut of Juan Paulo Gómez will take place in the city of Natal, capital of the state of Rio Grande do Norte in northwest Brazil, at the I Winter Music Festival organized by the School of Music of the Federal University of this state. The conductor from Malaga, who is currently musical and artistic director of the Partiture Philharmonic Orchestra and professor of the Orchestra Conducting Chair at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Málaga, will be the first conductor from Malaga to debut in this South American country. .

Of Juan Paulo Gómez, whom the press has defined as “a great baton master” (EL MUNDO, 03/05/2015), we can also highlight his role as a “solidarity artist” due to his strong commitment to all those causes that affect the social well-being, highlighting his participation in projects such as “Polio Plus” (Rotary International) for the fight against Poliomelitis or “Butterfly Skin Children” (DEBRA) to combat the terrible Epidermolysis Bullosa.

The concert program will be made up of works of great contrast to each other, starting with the famous overture Egmont Op. 84 by Ludwig van Beethoven (1770 – 1827), continuing with the Concerto for piano and orchestra “On Canaan's Border” by the American composer James Lee III (1975) - which will be the absolute premiere -, in which the Brazilian pianist Durvall will act as soloist Cesetti; and ending with the spectacular Rhapfest, a work composed in 2014 by the Chinese composer Xu Changjun (1957) who will be part of the guest percussion group that will complement the great symphonic team that will participate in the event, the Symphony Orchestra of the Federal University of Rio Grande from North.
