CULTURE PROMOTES A CYCLE OF CLASSICAL MUSIC CONCERTS THAT WILL START IN OCTOBER AND WILL LAST THE ENTIRE SEASON

An agreement with Iberian Sinfonietta will allow the development of these free performances at the Peace Palace. Spectators are asked to pre-register to comply with safety protocols

09/28/2020 – The Fuengirola Culture area promotes the development of a cycle of classical music concerts that will start in October and will continue throughout the season, until next May. This activity will be developed thanks to an agreement signed between the council of the Iberian Sinfonietta, a philanthropic orchestral project made up of professional musicians that was born in 2019 on the Costa del Sol with an educational and cultural objective towards the community based, mainly, on the support and dissemination of classical music.

As the mayor of Culture, Rodrigo Romero, has commented, “this agreement will serve to offer the residents of Fuengirola top quality music throughout the season. To do this, we give up the facilities of the Peace Palace, which we have reduced to 200 locations to adapt them to health recommendations and to ensure that the conditions of capacity and social distance are more than met.”

The councilor has encouraged live music lovers to attend the first of the shows, part of the cycle called 'Community Concerts', which will take place next Saturday, October 3. It is the 'Symphony or Concert' by Mozart and Boccherini and will be at 7:00 p.m., like the rest of the events scheduled in this cycle.

“They are completely free proposals but we are going to ask those interested in attending to register in advance by calling: 952 58 58 36 from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., indicating full name, ID and contact telephone number” , indicated Romero, who explained that "with this simple management we want to comply with all the security measures and protocols to guarantee the safety of the neighbors."

Juan Paulo Gómez, director of the orchestra and creator of the project, was present at the presentation of the cycle. The artist thanked the City Council for “the commitment to culture and the intense work they are carrying out to maintain high quality programming throughout the year in the city.”

As he has commented, the planned shows are very varied "and range from classical music recognized by everyone, to purely Spanish proposals, to a concert that pays tribute to the humor in classical music."

The concerts included in the 'Community Concert' cycle are: 'Symphony or Concert', on Saturday, October 3; 'Ibérica', on Saturday, November 14; 'Between romances and boleros', on January 23, 2021; 'From another prism', on Saturday, March 13, 2021; and 'Humor in Classical Music', on May 8. All performances will be at the Peace Palace at 7:00 p.m.
